Meet the Board
Lisa Carter - President
Lisa Carter, one of the co-founders of H.U.G.S. Ranch in 2006, is now the president of the board and the executive director of the Ranch. She is a single mother of three children, pursuing what she feels God has called her to do. Lisa has a degree in Equine Management and has participated in clinics for working with children with mental health and social struggles. She worked as a veterinary technician for over 28 years and managed multiple horse farms in North Carolina. She is passionate about what she does and feels strongly that the Ranch needs to be used to God’s glory.
Tammi VanderMolen - Spiritual Leader
Tammi VanderMolen is the spiritual leader of H.U.G.S. Ranch and a key player on the board. Having known Lisa from childhood, Tammi has been a part of the Ranch’s story and mission from the very beginning. She has spent many years helping to get the ministry started and in her position on the board, being an integral part of the Ranch for the past 12 years. Between raising four children of her own and mentoring many at the Ranch, Tammi personally understands the purpose and necessity of the work done at H.U.G.S.
Chad Bunce - Maintenance
Chad Bunce is an important member of the H.U.G.S. Ranch board. He has been involved at H.U.G.S. Ranch as a mentor since 2014 and as a board member since 2016, so he provides insight that comes only from personal experience with the daily functioning of the Ranch. He and his wife Kalie enjoy camping, spending time on the lake, and going on trips. Chad also enjoys riding horses, specifically team sorting, team roping, and trail riding.
Jan Hall – Special Events
Jan Hall started volunteering at H.U.G.S. Ranch in the summer of 2017 as a mentor and she was thrilled she would be able to share the love of Jesus Christ with others. In 2018, she became more involved and helped with the auction, the newsletter and special events. Jan loves to read the Bible, knit, sail, travel, swim in the ocean, and spend time with family and friends.
Dan Enck- Financial
Dan Enck began his experience at H.U.G.S. in the spring of 2018 volunteering as a mentor. He has worked with teenagers as a youth group leader for more than 25 years.
